We have Ping Pong Tables!! We have a volunteer team!! We have sofas!! We have mugs!!

The week has been crazy busy - big ups, big downs but still on track, thanks almost entirely to my own family and friends. The response to my bestest big sister’s social media call out to help us has been amazing, I have been staying until gone 8:30pm on my own or with my kids or friends, most nights. Worth it but damn, my arm aches! Had a go slow day yesterday so fired up to crack on today.

Learnt a few lessons the hard way that I shall make sure never rise again, Being the gaffer is ace but frustrating. Big learning curve for me, though it appears to suit me  (bossy boots). Even dealing with difficult situations seems to not phase me for long as my drive for Cultural Squatters to succeed supersedes mine or anyone else’s ego, and I will not let anything get in the way of opening. I owe it to every single person who has incredibly kindly donated goods, their valuable time, their professional advice, their professional skills, their money and their love. I will not let you down, and I will trample upon anything that gets in my way. This is for the people, by the people. This is us seeing a need and meeting that need as best we can with almost zero money but with amazing resources like you guys and my puppy like enthusiastic approach to make sure we honour your support by coming up with the goods.

After my blip last week, how everyone rallied to keep me going, the support and love...I would never do a thing to jeopardise the faith you seem to have in not just CS but me. It is incredibly motivating and I pretty much have only stopped to sleep, since! (My poor house needs a clean SO bad!!) As it is, here’s a few photographs of some of the fun stuff and our fantastic new table tennis tables (well one of them!) courtesy of Table Tennis England. Thank you!!They have been instrumental in making CS happen.

First ever ‘game’ of table
tennis in Cultural Squatters! Whoop.

First proper game of table
tennis in CS.

Amazing starter training session with the CS Volunteer Crew.

My daughter will now hate me forever...

More of us faffing. It was great fun though. Soon to be taught rules.

We are on the hunt for community groups to help us put on a show, for our big launch on May 1st. Have a think and share this blog to anyone who may be interested. We are making waves, locally and nationally, as we are doing something which has been needed for a long time, and helping ourselves and everyone around us, to unite under the banner of inclusivity and kindness. Cultural Squatters is also both an issuer and redeemer of the incredibly innovative and truly kind Counter Coin (in short non monetary reward scheme for volunteers which assists in regrowth of local retail whilst simultaneously reducing waste and allowing both small and larger businesses to embrace our #bekind ethos, but more on that another time as that is my bruvva from anotha muvva, Mike’s gig and baby, and I don’t want to mis-represent the concepts as this is just a quick blog before I get dressed!!).  But yeh. Local and maybe even national press will be dropping by to see what is happening on our big launch day. More on that in a day or so (or when ever I get to write the press release!!)

Instead, more photos...

Peace and love and #bekind ❤️
