Cultural Squatters is a social enterprise, an art project and real activism in progress. We will be staffed through the generous volunteering of local community member’s time, investing in the individual’s skills and allowing us all to learn from each other and grow the enterprise. We will offer a decent brew for a couple of quid, plus oatcakes and sarnies, homemade cakes, fruit etc. Veggie/vegan friendly but there will be bacon, too.

In-house work experience and some accredited training for adults with LD or MH issues, and people who are long term unemployed- ultimately we will create a volunteering hub which enables the participant to gain valuable work experience to assist in their plight to find paid work. The value of people, not the price, is what matters and what we are celebrating. But we all have bills to pay.

After 8pm a free rehearsal space for any artists/performers/community/sports groups etc. (just buy a brew, yeh?), and a live music venue. We don’t want cliques of cool and hip stuff. We want indie nights and jazz nights and death metal nights and old school house nights and church choir nights and northern soul nights and everything in between.
